Join us on Walnut Creek Community Day to tend to the Bancroft Elementary school garden!

About the Project: The Bancroft Garden is a beloved centerpiece of the Bancroft Elementary School campus. The garden hosts Growing Healthy Kids Garden Class, serving all grade levels over the course of the year. In it, students study nature, plants, and get to engage with learning in a hands-on way. The garden is a cared for Growing Healthy Kids staff, including Program Manager Alice Burns, Garden Educator Valeria Tinoco, community members, and students.

Projects Include: At this work day, volunteers will:

• Build a Spiral Herb Garden
• Work on Fall Plantings
• Work on Campus & Garden Cleanup
• Make signs for garden areas

Access Notes: There will be access to shade and water. Activities are availible for all ages. The space is accessible to wheelchair users. If you have any questions about accessibility, please reach out to our team!

You should Bring: Bring hats, water, garden gloves if you have them, sunscreen, and shoes that can get dirty.
